Runway Categories

GRAND PRIZE - $1000

Runway as a House

There are many communities that still remain silent about the effects of HIV/AIDS. Tonight, your house is asked to create a runway production with a message towards HIV/AIDS prevention and/or care featuring your most elite runway crew. Let this production be a true testament of your house's commitment to HIV/AIDS prevention and care. Productions should be less than five (5) minutes featuring four (4) to seven (7) members. All those included in the production must register/sign up by 6pm the night of the ball! No exceptions will be made for this requirement! After 10s are given for each production, each house must battle collectively until the end!

OTA Runway

How many go-sees does it take for a model to get MAGNUM exposure and be on TOP? Tonight, leave the tricks, stunts and shade off the runway; get your 10s with classic runway walk in a look of your choice with sickening strut and MAGNUM (large) prop.

CONFESSION 1: VOGUING HAS LOST ITS EXCITEMENT AND ORIGINALITY!
Tonight, we will make this confession untrue completing the Clash of the Champions I performance category! We want to see you create a signature, never-before seen, original move for your 10s. Usher us to a new, innovative era of vogue fem performance with that "ovah" move that will make the crowds of thousands stand to their feet! Calling all vogue fem divas and unbothered twisters!

FF Performance
Let us feel your performance as you whip your hair back and forth. Come battle in a nasty performance catfight with a bone-snatched pony tail and stiletto boot.

Old Way vs New Way
The pandemic of HIV/AIDS was first brought to national attention in the 1980s. Tonight, take us back to yesterday in a ‘80s inspired effect. Pop, dip & spin or bend & stretch for the cure!

Realness Categories

MINI GRAND PRIZE - $500
BQ Pretty Boy Realness
Everyone knows that sex sells but tonight we want to see if your pretty boy swag can do the same! We want you to compel others to practice safe sex by bringing a poster-sized advertisement featuring yourself with a personal statement of how HIV/AIDS has affected or impacted your life or could affect or impact your life. Your advertisement should be creative, original, thought-provoking in verse, and of high quality in print.

BQID vs FQ Realness - $250
Every city has them! Tonight - let's speak their names! For your 10s, you must say the name of an HIV/AIDS prevention agency in a city in the United States. To prevent repeats, you can only name an agency that is based out of a ballroom city in which you have never walked (IE: If you've never walked a ball in Washington, DC, you may say Us Helping Us!). Research is key - there are so many organizations out there! Tonight let's speak their names and make our audience aware their resources available across the country! 

BQ School Boy Realness - $250
Get involved! To compete in this category, you must come with proof of having volunteered at your local HIV/AIDS prevention organization or any non-profit organization that is based around health initiatives (American Heart Association, Cancer Society, local hospice, etc) for at least four (4) hours or more. Get creative - you can ask your local prevention agency if they need help with condom distribution or even volunteering at the satellite testing events. Whatever you do - get active and remain involved!

BQ Executive Realness
You are an executive at a major condom company. Brand your own condom and bring a report to tell us why it's the best to use for HIV prevention.

BQ Thug Realness
There are thug sex symbols like T.I. and the late Tupac. You are tonight's thug sex symbol. Bring us that sexy thug love! 

Butch vs Transman Realness
You're the body guard. How real are you to protect your community from HIV infection?

In an effect of your choice based on the color of the HIV/AIDS awareness ribbon...you must have walked one year or less!

House Rules
Unless otherwise stated, productions are not allowed for any category. Once the category has been closed by the commentator the category will not be re-opened. Cash prizes are awarded in the form of a VISA gift card and able for use anywhere VISA is accepted. All tables are $100. Your house has the opportunity to receive a FREE table if 4 members who are in the D-Up! Charlotte target population complete the program. Tables will not be sold after 6pm on the night of the ball.
