Tonight, the Carolina Awards grand prize will honor an international institution, the Olympic Games. In celebration of its never-ending commitment to strong competition, we elect the 2012 grand prize to be: BQ REALNESS WITH A TWIST. We request all the hot twisters, near and far, come together and let the games begin...

For competition one (part one), you MUST come displaying your realness by depicting an actual summer Olympic game of your choice, from any country of your choice other than the United States.

Remember there are a number of different sporting competitions in which you can represent; let your imagination run wild!

For competition two (part two), you will come back as a dainty figure skater whose performing for the gold. Showcase your talent by giving us a vogue performance that we won't ever forget!

THERE WILL BE NO TAKING IT "AS A HOUSE." THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE WINNER!

"Detour: Is it a Sin to Spin?"

A DETOUR is a decision between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons:

#1 - you may ONLY spin into a dip AND give floor performance to secure your 10s.
OR
#2 - you may ONLY catwalk, duck walk & give hand performance to secure 10s.

Option #1 allows you to only spin & dip but your entire night depends on how sickening and ovah the combination lands! The end of your performance should be floor - as your dazzle the judges with your unique moves.

Option #2 allows you to give the judges the elementary elements of catwalk & duck walk - but you must end with a hand performance that will make the Icon himself stand up and cheer! Which will you chose?

With both options, the performance MUST be exciting, original and noteworthy. Remember this is for $500: your overall appearance will be judged accordingly! While no specific dress code has been requested, an awards ball worthy effect is required!

The name of the game tonight is shade. Let the battle of cultures commence! We want to see a look inspired by the culture of any country along with a prop that will make your opponent gag. Remember the culture of a country can be influenced by religion, beliefs, customs & traditions of the inhabitants. Tonight - pull out all the stunts and antics you like as your storm the runway and make this an international battle royale of shade!

PROPS cannot be things such as fireworks, explosives or anything flammable.

(A major ball is defined as any chapter/house ball, or any ball that features at least 20 categories hosted by a reputable ballroom personality.)

Tonight you have two challenges to conquer to be considered the winner of this leg of the race! You must first bring an 8 x 10 colored photo to the judges that cannot be digitally altered. The judges will score that photo for all the elements of ballroom face. If successful, you will continue the race by coming out selling your face.
(BEWARE: the judges can still eliminate you if they find flaws with your face, look or selling technique.)

One year or less - showcasing all five elements in HEAD to TOE black. As this is a surprise elimination leg (category), if your performance throughout any battle is unworthy after receiving your 10s - you can still be chopped! Make sure your performance is top-notch throughout the entire night.

RULES OF PARTCIPATION

1. Glitter, spray paint and face paint is not allowed in the ballroom. Anyone caught with these items will be disqualified from competition and subject to ejection from ballroom.
2. Other than grand prize part two, productions or cd introductions are not allowed and will not be accepted by DJ.
3. Any acts of aggression or violence will not be tolerated and will result in immediate ejection from venue.
4. Smoking is not allowed inside ballroom. (You must go outside to designated area.)
