While most families usually bond by going out of town, going to the movie, or watch concerts, mine has a different way to bond.
At home, all of us play scrabble very well. I must say that scrabble is the official family game. From my mother and father to us their children, we all know how to play the game. At a young age, I learned how to play scrabble when my father taught me. My older siblings also know the game very well because it is what we do during the rainy days when we can't go outdoors.
It is just ironic that scrabble is our favourite game when my siblings and I are into sports. I am the youngest and the only girl in a family of five. I have two older brothers who are already in college. They are both members of the basketball team while I am training for the tennis varsity team in our school.
During weekends when we are all at home, we could just play card and board games the whole day. Although, most of the time, my brothers would prefer going to the shore to jog and play volleyball for a couple of hours. They would let me and Whimpy, our dog, join them in jogging. At night, when we are bored, we all play scrabble together, especially when Mom and Dad are not busy with their job as dissertation writers. We also play cards when my brothers and I take a break from essay writing. It is a good stress reliever especially when you are having fun with the whole family!
